Atlantic chunks of herring fillet called “MATJE” is well known in the world as originating from Norway and got its excellent taste from a recipe created five
centuries ago.

Nowadays, the production is similar to what was created long ago, but most importantly, the old recipe is preserved. The same rich-tasting ingredients are added to continue to create a delicious dish from our freshly caught fish, and even gourmets with high demands will not be disappointed.

Atlantic herring is recognized as one of the richest fish oils and various valuable elements for the human body. It contains a large amount of phosphorus, iodine, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc. Contains vitamins B12, PP, A and D. Atlantic herring is recognized as the fish with the highest content of vitamin D. 100 g of fish contains a 3-day dose of vitamin D, necessary for your bones and liver. Atlantic herring has a high content of selenium, a natural and effective antioxidant.

For the production, the fish is caught in the Atlantic Ocean near the coast of Norway.
